By his will, dated 28 May 1836, he demised his cottage and property at Girtford, to wife, Rebecca Askham reciting death of James Malden on 31 January 1840. By his will dated 14 January 1837 he appointed ii) as his executors who proved the will at Bedford and who became entitled to receive mortgage debt of 60 By a memorandum of July 1841 Rebecca Askham acknowledged that a further sum of 30 was due on security of said premises of which 10 was advanced to her by Ebenezer Malden Rebecca Askham died on 29 November 1842 intestate leaving i), her eldest son as heir at law Said sums of 60 and 30 are still due (total 90) but all interest has been paid Now in consideration of - 90 paid by iii) with approbation of i) to ii), in satisfaction of all monies due on said mortgage - 80 2s remainder paid by iii) to i) (total - 170 2s) i) releases, and ii) by direction of iii), in order to merge said term of 2000 years, surrender to iii) - messuage at Girtford, now in occupation of Jane Blane, spinster to use of iii) or to iv) in trust for iii) mark of i), signatures of ii) and iii) endorsed receipts witnesses William Smith, sol, Potton W Thos Chapman, Biggleswade
