    Mortgage in fee i) James Roberts, Meppershall, baker, grocer and farmer ii) William Thomas Chapman, Biggleswade, gentleman consideration - 1950 paid to i) by ii) i) conveys to ii) Firstly - cottage on S or SE side of High Road in Meppershall and erected on site of or converted from an ancient cottage once described as bounded by the common street or the pondyard (pasture) belonging to Meppershall Rectory and as staked out for division (in 1846) from other land on NE and SE side (84ft in width, 36ft in depth on one side and 26ft at the other) - cottage lately erected and adjoining above, etc now in occupation of i) and John Crawley - piece of land in Bandland Field (3r20p) being allotment no 289 on inclosure award map Secondly - piece of land in Bandland Field in Meppershall (3r 16p) being no 27 on map A - 10 cottages lately built thereon by i) and now in occupation of Henry Dilley, Susan Ingram, Thomas Silby, John Bygrave, Isaac Odell, Richard Jenkins, Thomas Peck, Thomas Ansell, Henry Pateman and George Dilley Thirdly - allotment of land in Bandland Field (3a) and being lot 2 at a sale in 1851 - barns or buildings thereon erected by i) Fourthly - capital messuage or farm house (1a 1r 7p) and numbered 164 on the Meppershall tithe map - Walnut Tree Close adjoining on NW (5a 2r 26p), numbered 165 - 2 pieces old enclosed land (9a 15p and 10a 1r 18p) being 23 and part of 24 in schedule made by valuer on said inclosure 'and referred to as being on said Tythe map' - new enclosed land or ground in Hill Field and Bandland Field (including public footways) (63a 7p) and numbered 8 on map A - allotment of new enclosed land in Bandland Field (6a 3r) (numbered 8A) (89a 1r in total and awarded to Frances Bell at the inclosure of Meppershall) - Bells Close (lying on NE side of cottage etc in Hill Dyke Lane in occupation of J Rainbow) (3r 23p) and numbered 133 on pla. All of which said premises containing on the whole 97a 16p and formerly in occupation of Charles Pestell since of Thomas and John Phillips then of the said John Phillips recently of the said Thomas Phillips as his administrator and now of James Roberts. To be held to use of ii) subject as to property fourthly described to a mortgage of 31 December 1872 and made between i) and John William Ryder to secure 4000 and interest at 4 10s% p.a. reducible to 4% Also subject, as to whole of said property, to provisoes for redemption i.e. if i) pays to ii) 1950 and interest at 5% p.a. on 1 July next then property to be reassigned by ii) to i).
