Will of Henry Grey, Duke of Kent (3 official copies):-
to be buried in Flitton vault, & monument designed by him to
self & 2 wives to be completed for chancel;
to w. Sophia 2000 for mourning; all coaches, chariots, harness,
coach-horses, saddle horses; her jewels; 3,000 oz. white
silver plate; 1,500 oz. silver gilt plate; to be chosen from
that not belonging to Wrest (the residue being for granddau.
Jemima Campbell);
to exors. in trust all pictures, books, furniture & household goods
at Wrest to remain in house as heirlooms;
to w. house in St. James' Sq. for 60 yrs. if she continue widow;
then to granddau. Jemima;
to dau. Mary 400 p.a. till marriage; & 10,000 portion; and
200 p.a. after marriage; she is to have a further 5000 if
testator has no son;
(refers to possibility of money owing for late daus. Jemima,
Lady Ashburnham, & Lady Ann Cavendish; and to act of 11 Geo.I
relating to estates in Hereford, Mon. & Glos.);
to granddau. Jemima 5000 (if son living);
to dau. Sophia Grey 200 p.a., and (if no son) 5000 above portion
provided by settlement;
to trustees & exors. (?.; Wm. Lord Sundon; Jn. Berkeley; Grey
Longueville) manor & castle of Goodrich & all other manors &
lands in Hereford to be sold & proceeds used to buy lands in
Beds. or within 20 miles of same; (refers to deed 26 June 1736);
