(i) Advising them on the suitability of the 3 lots of 12/220
for purchase by the Earl de Grey. Adds a note on the
progress of enclosure at Gravenhurst and Stondon.

(ii) Has received letter about Lord de Grey's desire to
purchase Lot 3; asks for further advice about methods
of purchase and conditions of sale.
11 June, 1848
(iii) Has purchased Lot 3 for 215. Price high. Lots 1 & 2
not sold. Rumoured that Sharp cannot make a title to
latter as it is entailed and hr. will not sanction d?
sale. In a yr. or two Lord de Grey should be able to
buy it at a reasonable price. Has received sketch of
Leicester-Nuneaton railway which runs through Lord de
Grey's property.
