    Copy of Will of William Hanscombe, gent of Pirton Hall, Hertfordshire now of The Avenue, Hitchin - appoints wife Frances Anne Bodley Hanscombe, and sons William Hammond Hanscombe and Hugh James Hanscombe, and brother-in-law Richard Hill Dawe, executors and trustees - to wife all ready money and personal effects - to wife for life, then to son William Hammond Hanscombe, "My Coursing prizes": silver basket waiter and cup, all antique silver [itemised list of cups, stands, cutlery, crockery, ink stand, candlesticks] plus books, pictures and old china left to him, oak dining room suite with 11 chairs, various other itemised furniture, etc, old gun and weapons on shield, the grandfathers clock, glassware and the hand painted china dessert service - trustees may sell the copyhold and apply the proceeds for residuary estate - all real estate and residue of personal estate to trustees to sell and pay the income arising to wife for life - after death of wife, trustees to hold the premises until all 6 of his children have attained 23 years - after death of wife and until youngest child is 23, trustees shall apply the profits towards the maintenance education or benefit of the children - when youngest child is 23, and subject to life interest of wife, trustees to give sufficient to son Alan to realise an income of 120 pa, subject to dividing the Trust Estate between all children and their issue - son Alan, before participating in the division, to bring the capital sum so paid to him into hotchpot - trustees to abstain from selling any unmortgaged real estate but manage it to best advantage of 'my dear wife', after her death his children, and when youngest son is 23, then split the property between the 6 children allowing eldest son William Hammond Hanscombe as much as he will accept of Pirton Hall, the Pirton Grange and Pump Farms, Hammonds Farm at Pirton, a smallholding at Apsley End now occ by Mott, the Moat Farm, house and stables and garden at Pirton occ by Arnold, 6 cottages adj the cottage occ by Smith, all cottages at Shillington adj Pump Farm, these being the properties he wishes to have retained within the family - trustees may allot to all or any of the younger children a charge on the estate, providing Alan has his 120 pa wits: Jas.
