Correspondence between Messrs Hawkins of Hitchin (representatives of Major Hanscombe); Sharman & Trethewy, Ampthill (representatives of Ampthill Rural District); the last trustee Mr King; and Betty A R Hanscombe of Bosham, Sussex: sale of the manors of Shillington, Pirton and Pirton Doddingsells from the trustees to Major Hanscombe for 100, and the ARDC's request for him to make them a gift of The Green (site plan included). This failed because Major Hanscombe could not convey more than his "right and interest" as that was all he had to convey, and the ARDC did not feel it was enough.
