Letter to Christine Dillingham of 12 Kings Road, Flitwick from the British Red Cross and Order of St. John, Enquiry Department for Wounded and Missing; Pte R Dillingham, 42041 7th Lincolnshire Regt, A. Co, 2 Plat - Dear Madam, We have had some news of your husband from Sergt F Bishop, 200148, A. Co., 2nd Platoon, 7th Lincolnshire Regt. now in hospital in France. This man says that after being temporarily relieved in the front line at Passchendaele, they were going back along the duck boards at 2am by moonlight. Your husband was wounded by a shell and was taken away by stretcher bearers belonging to another Division. We have heard nothing more, but perhaps2nd Lieut. Beard, A. Co., 7th Lincolnshire Regiment, B.E.F. might be able to carry the story further if you write to him. We are, meanwhile, going on with our own enquiries, though I fear we cannot give you much hope of getting good news. With sincere sympathy
