    Letter: from Richard Dillingham at No 21 Kite & Balloon Section RFC Camp, [France] to Christine Dillingham at Kings Road, Flitwick - writer hopes his wife and children are fine and he is enjoying some nice weather; - notes they are having a busier time with the balloon as it often goes up in the morning and doesn't come down till dark; - comments that the N.C.O's organised a whist drive amongst the men which had a first prize of 20 francs, the money for the prizes was subscribed by the officers, "we played 20 games and had 9 tables in the winch shed" and " Its the first thing of the sort we've had out here, an quite an enjoyable evening"; - notes he visited the hospital to have one of his back teeth removed, "it gave me a lively five minutes coming out"; - comments that his mother had said how poorly his wife had been looking; - notes he would have liked to have seen her whacking the boys after they had a paddle in the mud and water after getting them ready to go out, "as you say they are little beggars"; - expects the children will be pleased with the pattern books father brought them; - asks if father stills makes a big fuss over them; - is glad to hear that the vegetables in the garden are doing well and asks where she is going to put the potatoes once they are dug; - thinks when he returns he will have to leave the gardening to her;
