They have had to give in all things that they are not taking overseas with them; - notes that he is only left with the clothes he stands in, a spare shirt, pants, 2 pairs of socks, towel, razor, knife, fork and spoon, toothbrush, comb and overcoat; - comments he had hoped to get leave for the weekend; - notes they have been packing up all the stores on the lorries and that these leave for Avonmouth and they will follow on the Saturday or Sunday; - "Tell Father & Mother about me going but tell them not to let it worry them and whatever you do cheer up like the dear girl you are";
