    Letter: from Richard Dillingham at RFC Camp Lydd [Kent] to Christine Dillingham at Kings Road, Flitwick - writer has just come off Church Parade; - describes the camp, "we are situated in a big meadow about 5 minutes from the town if you can call it one. It is very flat & marshy and very hot during the day and misty at night and you can hear the foghorns on the vessels in the English Channel going all night long"; - notes that he is camped under canvas with nine men and has 3 blankets and a waterproof sheet; - explains that he is in A section; - notes that the town of Lydd is much like Toddington with a church in the centre; - had attended a church service, "the service was very nice especially when the hymns were being sung and the sermon was very touching"; - describes his disappointment at not being able to get home; - asks his wife to get a photograph of the children and her so he can have a picture with him; - comments that he was pleased that she had kept up Ben's birthday; - hopes that "the war will soon be over and then we shall have some of the good times again"; - asks whether Dave Roberts gone yet and what does his wife say about it?; - notes that he has picked up with one or two very nice chaps; - asks whether old Billy Summerfield and Bob Mann have gone yet?; - notes from the Bedfordshire Times that Mr Goodman has got his men off; - asks whether John Wilson and Archie Ayler have heard about being called up?; - asks his wife not to worry but to look on the bright side of things and to kiss the children;
