1. The Earl leases to Tho. Francklin:
tenement cd. Ropers from Mich. next 'at the
good liking of the Earl' . Rent 9 2. 6d. and
1 couple of capons and 1 couple of hens at
Shrovetide and 1 pork in feed or 1 wether sheep
fat price 10s., 1 load of straw yearly upon
reasonable warning 'if the extremity of the
winter shall so fall out that the Earl shall
have need of straw for his horses in the park at
Harrold'; tenant to repair Ropers and Reys house.
2. To Fra. Hayle:
ten. late Trusses. Rent 24 , 2 capons, 2 hens,
2 loads of straw as before, and 1 brawn, price 20s.
at Martinmas.
3. To Wm. Hayle:
ten. late Brewers; Rent: 4 6. 3d., 2 capons,
2 hens, 1 load of straw as before.
4. To Robt. Paule and Geo. Read:
ten. late Hugh Aprichards, Rent: 4 6. 6d., 1
couple of capons, 1 couple of hens, and 1 load
of straw as before.
No witnesses.
18 June 1601.
Endorsed: 'We humbly crave of your lordship that we
may join a team together towards your lordship's
carriage because our portion of land is nothing equal
with the rest. Wm. Hayle, Robt. Paule, Geo. Read' ."
