houses and lands in Clophill
(recites (i) seised in fee simple of manor
of Clophill with Cainhoe and of
Clophill warren & small man meadow in
which (ii) claim right of common to
cut fern, and have agreed to convey
these rights to (i).)
to Jn. Cater, snr., and Christ. Cole in trust to
be used as common
Haw meadow cont. ca. 2 1/8 a. in occ. Nat. Linford,
N. on the river, E.W. & S. on Clophill moor.
Lordmead in Clophill cont 7 a. next common moor
called Sydell, E. on the river.
game and mineral rights reserved
to be used by those having common rights in the
warren and Small man mead as manor court shall
determine
(i) will pay 3 yearly to Churchwardens and
Overseers of Clophill to be divided among those who
have had right of taking fern
(ii) quit claim warren and Small man mead to (i)
witnesses: Jn. Allen, jnr., Rog. Malpes, Nath.
Samm. Th.(Renal-es ?) Fran. Fletcher,
and two illegible.
endorsed: memorandum that we the inhabitants of
Clophill have signed and sealed these presents do
give and grant to the within named Duke of Kent all
our rights of common in the two great fields, one
called Great High field, and the other Little
High field for which we have the meadow called
Haw meadow as within mentioned though by neglect
it was not inserted to in this deed; yet we do
give up our rights and titles to the said Duke
in the same.
