Numbered Series Appraisal Information The following records consisted upon deposit of a series of packets each numbered with references indexed in PK 3/1. Each packet contained stocktaking valuation material for a number of years for a particular farm property. The material consisted of valuation books(as used in the field by the valuer), copies of TS valuations/inventories based on the books' year on year, and accompanying related correspondence. In appraising the material it was decided to keep, for each property, valuation books for each fifth year(ie year 1, then year 6(or nearest equivalent)etc)and best copies of TS valuations for each intervening year (ie usually years 2,3,4,5 and then 7, 8 etc). Where documents for a particular year were missing, nearest equivalent alternatives were retained instead. Accompanying correspondence was all destroyed unless it included significant additional and/or unrelated informational content(such items being highlighted in the catalogue descriptions in places). The valuations are mainly of live and dead farming stock, acts of cultivation/growing crops and unexhausted manures or detailed/specific variants of the same. The correspondence and papers refers to (inter alia) drainage, the Wheat Act allowance, sale of land, reconciliation statements (between valuations and consecutive years), lists and measurements of croppings etc.
