  • The ink in the handwritten parts glitters and sparkles, which may be the reason the deed was kept as it seems unrelated to the Field family. Some ink recipes called for excessive amounts of gum arabic, and finely crushed sand was often used as a blotter to speed up drying. So sand dust may be the source of the glittering crystals. In any event, it's very eye-catching.
