In default of heirs, to cousin Oliver Hale and his heirs, and in default of heirs to the right heirs of JP. - to executrix Mary Piggott for life the houses and lands in Pulloxhill and 6ac arable at Gravenhurst, and after her decease to hisy brother Symon Hale and Judith his wife for life paying 20 pa to their son Oliver Hale, 10 pa to their daughter Judith Hale, and after their decease to Oliver Hale for life paying 20 pa to his sister Judith Hale, and after his decease to Judith Hale for life, and after her decease to JP'sy cousin Pigott Sanderson and his heirs for ever, and in default of such heirs, to the right heirs of JP - if executrix Mary Piggott marries, she shall not thereafter inhabit any houses on, or have any benefit of,his lands but they shall be to the use of those as set down in this will - after JP's death, Oliver Hale and Stephen Shepard the elder will take his keys and dispose of his goods, get appraisers and set things in order in the country, and Mr Christopher Foster will join them in ordering JP's writings and things at London - his tenants to have reasonable warning before they leave his land - no waste to be done in his trees, fences, houses or lands - if any refuse his legacies or sue for more, every such party shall have no benefit in his will - all legacies to be paid within 14 months of his decease - to sister Mary Piggott, executrix, the residue, advised by Raph Skinner concerning the proving of this will, and by JP's brother Henry Piggott, his brother Simon Hale and Stephen Shepard in all other matters - Mary Piggott to pay 10 pa to his brother Simon Hale, 10 pa to his wife Judith Dated 26th November 1661 Proved 28 February 1662 Witnesses: Oliver Hale, Stephen Sheperd [sic], Thomas Shepperd, William Shepherd
