  • Title
Letter Reads- Bennett recommends the Duke endeavous to secure right of access to the railway in his land for trading. The site of Bedford station is still unsettled and the activities of Green and Stephenson over the Birmingham line are suspect and motivated by self interest, designed to ruin the carriers of coal on the waterways. He does not think the Duke should originate a petition over the Newport Pagnell line but might well sign if others do. He suggests the Duke should help the Steppingly school for the past, but if properly managed, his usual subscription should be enough in future.
