  • Title
Letter Reads- Lord Ashburnham's two farms are only worth the Duke's attention if very cheap as the best land in Clapham has gone to Mr Elliott. There are likely to be other places of more importance, such as Colonel MacQueen's Houghton estate and Mr Delmé Radcliffe's at Brogborough. Land should be cheaper due to all the capital investment in railways. Mr Hacker wants the Heads of Department to put their needs for repair in writing to Mr Haedy as there are so many disputes about his not doing what was asked for, or doing work they deny asking for. He will report direct to Mr Haedy about the substantial repairs to the Abbey itself, but does not wish to report on verbal requests from Palfreeman, Burness and Forbes.
