Letter Reads- Agrees the Duke's name should be on the list of Trustees for Ampthill Dissenters School. The proportion of Bow Brickhill Heath is offered to the Duke by private contract. About 200 acres was allotted to the Rector and parish officers in 1796 for the poor. It should have been properly regulated but was not with the result in the last twenty years some of the poor had cultivated it, paying no rent. To get it on a proper footing the trustees obtained an Act giving them greater powers and can sell part or the whole of the remaining. If the Duke is inclined to buy, Bennett proposes to pay partly in land on the edge of the estate more conveninent for gardens for the poor, the Duke to get a larger portion of the heath, and so get rid of a corner occupied always by gipsies, and so make a better boundary for the Duke's estate.
