    Letter Reads- Bennett puts case of Mr. Rutland for financial help from Duke of Bedford. Ruthland now 74, worked as wheelwright for 61 years, now unfit. Made the best provisions he could for himself through membership of a Benefit Club. Should now be entitled to relief:- full pay for one year, 2/- a week and after that for remainder of his life 'half pay' or 5/- a week. Rutland now been 6 weeks on club due to illness. Medical Officer of Club now says he could return to light work. Bennett told him would not be able to earn 10/-, and as he can now have a Medical Certificate of total infirmity best advice to him was to leave his club. Put his case before Duke for help. His father in service of family for 50 years, married a housemaid and lived at Porter's Lodge at the entrance. Bennett feels he comes within rule laid down by His Grace as a man deserving his Grace's benevolence. Two deaths to report. Ludlow's old keeper and Ambrose Redall old house porter in last stages of illness.
