  • Title
Letter Reads- Gurney's Estate at Lidlington sold for 600. Three or four small Capitalists were eager competitors. Unsure how they are going to make it pay, supposes they have ways of exacting rents out of people who do not possess it. Mr. Stephen had his first sale of oak yesterday but found buyers slack and prices down. Best oak in Kingswood (Ampthill) and Maulden only made 2/3 a foot. Miss Monoux has left everything to her friend Miss Charlotte Gordon for her life, and then to go to Mr. George Ongley.
