    Letter Reads- Returns Mr. Whitbread's list of prices and also a list of what prices they have at present been buying at. Writing to Hawkins to find out how Lord Dacre's plan of varying rent of a farm works. Lord Dacre's price for renting a farm is 7/6, Lord Spencer thinks 7/- is proper one, and Lord John 6/6 quite enough. Bennett thinks few farmers could hire at 6/6 fixed rent for a long lease. Chapman of Oakley anxious in his present state of ill health that his farm should go to his wife with assistance of a nephew of hers. Might be best to communicate the terms for the year, if he does not get better, give time to ascertain how far nephew be of use to her and whether able to conduct the farm.
