Letter Reads- Offer of Wynter's land at Eversholt for 2,200: 38 acres, cottage, & homestall. Worth 1,800; if sold in lots might fetch 2,000; but think the Duke ought to give price asked rather than lose it, as it is close under the park wall. Sharman not likely to sell his estate at price asked, so advise Duke to wait & see what becomes of Lord Ashburnham's at Clapham. Thanks for 50 silver. Shortage has fallen heavily on those last able to bear it; many shamefully robbed.
