Letter Reads- Overman so alarmed at likely reductions that he dare not give rent I proposed; he wanted to have it for 1 year only as trial; I said not long enough to tell. Finally discussed 21 years @ 700. (Long discussion). Also saw Crouch. Neither of these are to be parted with on light grounds. Discussion of Crouch's position.
