Reads- Tenantry will be glad to show loyalty to Queen & prince by escorting from the entrance to the abbey; refreshment from Ashwoods, as domestic staff fully occupied. Hacker in great trouble at extent of work required in abbey before visit; told him to get extra hands, for special occasion; let me know time or at least week;; July audit can be put off. July 21st many tenants will start for the great Ag. Mortgage at Liverpool; 26th North Bedfordshire Audit. Sudbury a faithful & industrious man, formerly a good deal employed at abbey; he & wife get 5s. week outdoor relief; he also has 2/6 weeks from Labourers Club but this will cease in 3 mths.; deserving case; case has been before Guardians, and anything Duke gives will help to some comforts.
Boundary of Wandon Heath plantations a great resort for gipsies; plantations also suffer from people who have built houses on waste.
The gipsies pull the ling (heath) for besome & cut strong poles from other woods for handles.
