Letter Reads- Gorham's house (not clear where). Gearing the coachman has been to me about the George Inn; most respectable but this business is beyond his means; he has 400, but tenant should have 1,500. Attwood, tenant at the Goad, also wants George; says if he had more to do he would have less time to imbibe strong waters; also proposes to marry; he would make the best tenant if he marries a good wife & keeps steady; clear that, with the altered state of the roads one of the houses must be closed. Lord Wriothesley's rent.
