Title
Letter to Robert Butcher from Alice Brothers
Reads- The reason of my troubling you is a carpenter's shed adjacent tallow-chandler's house in new street, occupied by my family many years. I gave the man 20 for it when he left; have lost the money, as it stood empty till I let it to this carpenter. I did not think when I bought it but that I could renew it again. I beg your clemency. I have been a cripple 4 years, having lost part of foot and spent all ready money on surgeons and apothecaries; I have nothing to live on but the old houses. You asked about the yards at the back of my houses - they were sold to a bricklayer in St Martin's Lane.
