(ii) Henry Palmer of Clifton [largest purchaser at auction noted below and therefore entitled to title deeds];
(iii) Frank Snitch of Southill, butcher;
(iv) Richard Bodger of Southill, farmer
Reciting:
- will of Samuel Henley Ongley of 23 Sep 1812 in which he devised all his real estate in Clifton to (i) subject to a 20 annuity to his servant George Martin arising from the land;
- death of Samuel Henley Ongley in May 1822 and proof of his will in PCC on 10 Jul 1822;
- the estate was discharged from the 20 annuity;
- auction at Royal Oak Inn, Biggleswade on 18 Jun 1823 to sell Manor of Laces, otherwise Clifton, at which (iii) was highest bidder for lots 10 and 14 [(a)-(b) below] for 450 and 710 respectively as well as the standing timber on both valued at 53/8/- making a total of 1,213/8/-
