    Marriage settlement between John Field and Frances Flint (i) John Field, gent of Hitchin, Hertfordshire, only surviving son of John Field, gent late of Hitchin, who was only surviving brother of Thomas Field esq of Hitchin deceased, who was eldest nephew and heir of Charles Nicholls, gent of Hitchin deceased, the purchaser of the premises (ii) Thomas Flint, yeoman of Higham Gobion and Frances Flint, his younger daughter. (iii) Joseph Margetts Pierson, grocer and William Thomas, maltster, both of Hitchin [trustees] 500 from (ii) to (i), with covenant that Thomas Flint's executors will pay (i) a further sum within 6 months of his decease. (i) releases to (iii) for one year (a) New Inn with all houses, outhouses, barns, etc. in Flitton cum Silveshoe, and Peartree Close, Churchbridge Pightle, Middle Close/Shippwater Layes, [Water?] Hills Close, Southill Close, Pryors Pightle and Willsons Pightle, containing together 40 ac pasture (b) 1ac 1r pightle in Flitton cum Silveshoe had in exchange from Rt Hon Countess Dowager of Kent deceased, bounded E by Southill Brook running between Fielden Mead and said premises, W common highway from Silsoe to Barton, N Thetchy Close, Bushy Close and Bucklegrove late of the Countess Dowager of Kent and late of William Daniel, S on the common ground called the Padey (c) 2 ac close of pasture adjoining (a), formerly 2 pightles known as Southill Fore pightles between the common highway from Silsoe to Barton E, and Kitchin Field W, late occ by Thomas Day and now John Hill. (d) 5 ac close of pasture called Cherry Orchard lately enclosed in Kitchin Field in Flitton cum Silveshoe and Pulloxhill, 4 acres of which are in Pulloxhill, abutting N the highway leading from the road to Kitchin End, and S Southill Fore Brook, now in the tenure of John Hill All of which are let to John Hill at 58 a year rent. The rents are to go to the marriage parties and after their death to their children at age 21. Declaration barring dower.
