    The text is written out by Joshua Wheeler and is occasionally annotated with remarks including 'On the 18th of 5th mo 1781 we were united in marriage soon after which it pleas'd the allwise disposer of events to visit her with much weakness & indisposition of body on which account she took two journeys to Dover being recommended so to do under a hope that sea air & bathing might be a means of recoving her health - the following remarks were made during her second visit to that place.'
