    Letter from Frogmore Cumming, Vicar of Keysoe, to Rev.J.Hailstone, Bursar of Trinity College, Cambridge: - enclosing 66/2/3 which, with 3 paid to Beadsman and 4 to Vicar of Barford, made up the year's rent; - he had just had notice from Commissioners of Keysoe Inclosure of meeting to settle claim for modus set up by proprietors of old inclosures; - he had inserted a clause for claims of this kind to be heard at assizes but hoped the claim would be dropped on his stating his objections; - the modus appeared to him to be a composition entered into by a former vicar and the occupiers which had been continued by the successors, the terrier on which the modus was written, of 1707, set it up in lieu of all tithes; - he had recovered from his broken blood vessel
