Archival history
Plans were microfilmed in the 1970s-early 1980s. After microfilming the plans were sent on to Bedfordshire Archives for samples to be selected for ultimate preservation; the remainder to be destroyed. Under an agreement made in 1983 with North Bedfordshire Borough Council original plans were not to be produced to the pulbic for 30 years, therefore listing of the plans selected for permanent retention in the archives did not begin until the late 1990s and in 2023 was yet to be completed.
