Bedford Bridge. Duke of Bedford thanks S.W. for his letter and the explicit manner in which he has complained of the Duke's neglect of the county. Does not wish to give offence and wishes to pay all attention in his power to the county. Lord Ossory's neglect is proverbial. Lord Lieut. will subscribe
a conditional 1000. Imagined subscriptions to the loan for the bridge
would not be wanting. What should Tavistock subscribe? Suggests 500
which the Duke will pay. Hopes to know Lord Bute's political ideas
with regard to the County.
