    CONVEYANCE 1883 October 18 of land in Bedford St Cuthbert between 1) John Elliott Page, merchant of Bedford 2) Thomas Spencer, builder of Bedford from (1) to (2) in fee simple for 720 of part of "The Bower Building Estate" as shown on the attached plan in pink, the wall forming the west boundary being a party wall. With full liberty to pass along all the roads of the Bower Building Estate as set out on the lithographical plan with or without horses, cars and carriages. The land was conveyed with other hereditaments to (1) by indenture of 9 May 1882 [see X857/2/2]. (1) and (2) "have been married since the first day of January" 1834. Covenant by (2) that - he will not erect more than four houses - any house erected shall be worth at least 450 - the main wall of the buildings shall not be closer to the front of the land than the dotted line on the plan - he will not permit the business of innkeeper, victualler or retailer of wines, spirits or beer, or any trade or profession except barrister, solicitor, physician, surgeon, apothecary, architect or surveyor - he would not permit any business which would require a public shop Covenant by (1) to produce scheduled deeds - Indenture 16 February 1882 between 1) Charles Robert Wade-Gery, 2) William Hugh Wade-Gery and 3) G Bower - Indenture 16 February 1882 between 1) C R Wade-Gery, 2) Peter John Locke King and 3) G Bower. Witness - T S Porter, solicitor, Bedford. Memorandum on reverse - that in an indenture 1894 between 1) William Burr, 2) Thomas Spencer and 3) Henry Young, the southern portion of land with frontage of 7' 3" to Newnham Road was conveyed to G Bower in fee simple
