    C. Gurney Burgess L.R.I.B.A. was based in Luton between 1949 and 1961. Initially he worked for the Peter Dunham Group, 42-44 Hastings Street, Luton. From 1954 he worked independantly, taking offices at Market Hill Chambers, George Street, and then moving to 2 Cardiff Road in 1956 and 60 Lincoln Road by 1960, by which time the firm had expended to become 'C. Gurney Burgess and Associates'. During his time in Luton he took on a diverse range of projects, from factories and offices to church alterations and public houses. By 1961, although continuing projects for clients in Luton, notably Lundun limited, he was based in London, at Dudley House, southampton Street, Strand.
