Release and Appointment i) John Crichton Stuart, Marquis of Bute, and Earl of Dumfries, grandson and heir at law of John, Marquis of Bute, deceased, and great grandson and heir at law of John, Earl of Bute, deceased, who was nephew and heir at law of James Stuart Mackenzie, deceased ii) John, Lord Bishop of Lincoln , William Stuart, Tempsford Hall, Esquire iii) said Marquis of Bute, Maria Marchioness of Bute iv) The Rev Sir John Filmer, East Sutton Park, Kent, baronet reciting lease and release of 4 and 5 April 1764 a) Francis Herne, Esquire b) said John , Earl of Bute, deceased c) said James Stuart Mackenzie by a) at request of b) released to c) - hereinafter mentioned land to hold in trust for b) for ever. Said James Stuart Mackenzie died in 1799 without issue leaving John, late Marquis of Bute, and his nephew, surviving him reciting also bargain and sale of 10 February 1815 1) said Marquis of Bute 2) Thomas Farrer 3) Thomas Atkinson and a Recovery in Hilary of same year by which the freehold and inheritance of said land became vested in 1) reciting also lease and release of 14 and 15 July 1818 A) said Marquis of Bute B) said Marchioness of Bute by her then name of Lady Maria North, eldest of 3 daughters and co-heiresses of George, Earl of Guildford, deceased C) Sir Charles Stuart Bishop of Lincoln,by his then name of Rev John Kaye, D.D. D) Frederick William, Earl of Bristol The Hon and Rev Henry Lewis Hobart, D.D., Dean of Windsor E) The Rev Francis North William Dundas F) said Earl of Bristol Thomas Francis Kennedy, younger, Esq. - pieces of ground hereinafter described which were then in occupation of Susanna Thrussel were conveyed to A) to C) on trust with power to sell and to make void any uses or trusts etc concerning the same. Power to appoint new trustees reciting also lease and release of 7 and 8 February 1825 I) Marquis of Bute II) Sir Charles Stuart John, Lord Bishop of Bristol III) Edward Cromwell Disbrow IV) Onesiphorus Tyndale by which I) appointed III) to be trustee in place of Sir Charles Stuart and premises were conveyed by II) to IV) on trust to convey them to the Bishop and III) reciting also lease and release of 4 and 5 March 1825 endorsed on last deeds by which IV) conveyed said premises to the Bishop and III) on trusts as in settlement Said several pieces were put up for sale by auction on 23 December 1825 at George Inn, Luton, at which sale iv)was purchase of lots 7,8 and 9 for £700 Afterwards said William Stuart was appointed a trustee jointly with the Bishop of Lincoln, then the Bishop of Bristol reciting also lease and release of 1 and 2 December 1826 and of 4 and 5 December 1826 endorsed on it by which land hereinafter described was assured to the Bishop of Lincoln and William Stuart on trusts, as before now in consideration of £700 paid to ii) by iv) at request of iii) ii) at request of iii)make void all the uses, trusts etc concerning the land also ii) at request of ii) declare that said pieces shall remain to use of iv) for ever also ii) at request of iii) release to iv) - several pieces of land in Luton and Toddington - - - 6 pieces arable in White Common Field in Luton once part of Limbury Farm near road from Limbury to Bramingham and now in occupation of Susannah Thrussel, widow, at yearly rent of £17 -- - - - - 4 a 25p - - - - - - 5a 27p - - - 2a 9p - - - - - - 1a 23p - - - - 3a 1r 36p - - - - - 1a 1r 30p being lot 7 in the particulars of sale - - - 2 pieces arable in said common field being part of Limbury Farm near the said road and also in occupation of Susannah Thrussell at yearly rent of £4 -- - - - - - 1a 1r 35p - - - - - 1a 1r 35p - - - - - 1a 3r 16p being lot 8 in the particulars of sale - - - piece arable called Frogmore in Toddington, also part of Limbury Farm, near road from Leagrave Marsh towards Sundon, also in occupation of Susannah Thrussel at yearly rent of £5 (5a 2r 16p) being lot 9 in the particulars of sale all which lands are part of those comprised in lease and release of 4 and 5 April 1764 or alloted in exchange in the Inclosure Act or Award, or in other deeds to hold to use of iv) for ever but subject to lease to Susannah Thrussell of which 5 years are unexpired at Michaelmas 1826 sigs of ii), and iii) endorsed receipt wits (some crossed through) Townley Clarkson, clerk, Hinxton,Cambs John Graham, clerk, Christ's College, Cambridge Henry Littledale, Harley Street, Middx John Alington, Rector of Little Barford Thomas Farrer George Hy Evans both of Lincolns Inn Fields, gents
