    Statutory Declaration of Emma Johnson, Bedford, widow, formerly Emma Carrier. 1.William Eastaff, Bedford, carpenter and joiner, by will of 22 April 1851, devised ..... to son, William Henry Eastaff (called Henry William Eastaff) -house wherein he dwelt -2 messuages adjoining in Parish of St Peter's, Bedford, in occupation of Samuel Lamb and - Carter -2 houses in Priory Terrace, St Paul's, Bedford, then untenanted -3 houses in High Street, St Pauls, Bedford in occupation of Daniel Hipwell, Caleb Croft and Thomas Rayner - all other his real estate to hold for life, and then to executors on trust. If son's wife survives him then to pay rents and profits to her. After decease of son and wife, then to their children as tenants in common at 21. If son dies without issue, then to nephews and nieces as tenants in common. Said houses charged with payment of £30 pa to wife, Frances Eastaff for life, to meet provision of marriage settlement. Son and Thomas Clifton appointed executors. 2.Will proved (Northampton) 3 January 1860. 3.Frances Eastaff died on 9 April 1861 and was buried in Trinity Churchyard, Bedford (as on Certificate attached). 4.William Henry Eastaff died on 20 October 1897 a widower without issue and intestate. Letters of Administration to his personal estate granted to declarant on 19 November 1897 at Northampton 5.Only nephews and nieces of William Eastaff living at the time of his decease were her mother, Sophia Carrier (formerly Sophia Parker), the wife of Joseph Carrier, Bedford, gardener. Also Edward Parker, 21 Poulton Square, Chelsea, Middlesex, baker and Ann Frost (formerly Ann Parker), Cardington, Bedford, being children or a sister of William Eastaff. 6.Sophia Carrier died on 29 May 1877 leaving 3 daughters. She was buried at Bedford Cemetery (as on certificate attached). 7.Edward Parker married Mary Potter on 18 September 1825 at St George's, Hanover Square, London (as on certificate attached). 8.One son of marriage - Edward William Parker (as on birth certificate attached). 9.Edward Parker died on 8 November 1871 (as on death certifcate attached). 10.Ann Frost died on 2 July 1867, leaving 3 daughters (as on death certificate attached). 11.By order of 14 February 1898 made in Chancery Division of H C J (1897 E 1309) in the matter of the trusts of the will of William Eastaff, deceased, between Edward William Parker as plaintiff and the declarant, Eliza Quarry and Mary Ann Brooks (the 3 daughters of Sophia Carrier, deceased) and Emma Cambers (surviving daughter of Ann Frost) as defendants, it was certified that William Henry Eastaff was heir at law of William Eastaff and Edward William Parker was by descent entitled to real estate of testator.
