    Stevington - Land in Common Fields Manor of Steventon Admission reciting admission of Mathew Ludgate on 30 October 1744 Mathew Ludgate has since died and heriot and fine in respect to quit rent is due to Lord of the Manor. Peter Ludgate of Clapham, dairyman, is his son and heir. Said principal and interest was not paid to Mathew Ludgate in his lifetime. Peter Ludgate is now admitted tenant to the premises, subject to such redemption yearly rent - 5s 6d heriot - 1 mare to value of - fine - 11s 24 October 1749 endorsed: receipt by Peter Ludgate from Thomas Lawrence of £136 13s 10d in full of all sums due for principal, interest, fines etc. With authorisation to Steward to enter satisfaction on the Court Rolls 15 February 1755 Attached: Receipt to Mathew Ludgate for 5s 6d for a year's quit rent, signed by G Houghton, and 12s 4d as Steward's fees and 6d for bailiff's fees and 6d to the Steward's clerk.
