Agreement
i)Thomas Impey, Clement's Inn, Middx., gent (son of Thomas Impey, gent, deceased)
ii) Martha Judson, widow, late the wife of John Judson gent, deceased, formerly the wife of William Stoakes, late of St Clements Danes, Middx, chandler, deceased and once the wife of the said Thomas Impey, the father
iii) Thomas Brumpstead, Clements Inn, gent William Callow of the same, gent
By deed of 21 September 1652 a) Godfrey Impey, Battlesden, gent
b) William Stoakes and Martha Judson, his then wife
c) George Merifield, Peter Naylor, Henry Feild, John Phillips St Clements Danes, gents.
by which a) and b) demised to c) - hereinafter lands etc term - 70 years in case Thomas Impey should within 12 months after he attained 21 demise 1/3rd part of the same property to said Martha for 50 years (if she should so long live), then the said Martha, will release her right to the other 2/3rd parts to Thomas Impey.
Then within one month the above deed for 70 years and a deed of jointure and a lease of 99 years should be surrended to Thomas Impey to be cancelled i) attained 21 in November last now that the property may be settled
i) and ii) agree with iii) that they will, at cost of iii), levy a fine in Hilary term next of
- all messuages in Hockliffe
- closes called Chason Hills, Pawles Mead or Little Mead, cont Lang Furlong alias Long Furlong, North Mead and Coppie Moores (100a) in Hockliffe
- cottage or tenement in Chalgrave in tenure of John Moseley and Mary Pinyer
- close adjoining in occupation of William Page
- all that meadow plot (1r or pole) in Chalgrave once in occupation of Gabriel Honor adjoining unto the mounds of the said cottage and close 1/3rd part to be to use of ii) for 50 years and then to the use of i)
The other 2 x 1/3rd parts of which no use is limited or declared, are to be to use of i) for ever
mark of ii) signatures of iii) endorsed witnesses Phillip Johnson, M of the Lamb Tavern Humphry Ambler, servant to Mr Phillips of New Inn
