He knew the late John Proctor About 40 years ago he built a cottage on the waste at Clapham, called Clapham Green, and lived in it. On 1 April 1821 John Proctor married Sarah Branson at Stagsden [see copy Certificate 'A'] The couple had a son, William Thomas Proctor, who is a blacksmith now living at Clapham John Proctor was married once only, and had no other son who lived to attain 10 years John Proctor lived in the cottage until his death on 20 March 1846 [B] His widow, Sarah Proctor, received the rents from the cottage until son was 21 when William Thomas Proctor attained his majority in 1855 he occupied said cottage and added a blacksmith's shop Sarah Proctor married James Cowley and died in December 1861 and was buried at Clapham Signature of Robert Cowley Witness Theed Wm Pearse 24 October 1863 Attached: Entry from register of burials, Clapham, relating to John Procter, 47, on 25 March 1846.
