    Exchange of lands (i) The Rev John Frederick Dawson, The Woodlands, Clapham, clerk (ii) James Howard Frederick Howard (both of Bedford, agricultural implement manufacturers) (i) holds an estate in Clapham including below mentioned land part turnpike road from Bedford to Kettering Part highway from said turnpike road to Clapham Green Part Mr Richard William Fitzpatrick Part (ii) as tenants in common in fee Now in consideration of £34 16s 9d paid to (i) by (ii) (i) grants to (ii) - messuage etc in Clapham (1r), shown in map in margin of first skin and marked 1 - 5 pieces land in Clapham (2r 11p, 15p, 1r, 8a 7p and 34p) numbered 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 - all such part of land as well as those occupied by as those lying on E side of present fence of (ii) in a straight line from SE corner of no 5 to SE corner of Bottom Wood Field belonging to (i) reserving to (i) the right of passage over 2, 3, 4 and 5, as in plan on second skin. Right of footway for everyone over land of (i). to use of (ii) as tenants in common (i) covenants to produce deeds numbered 1 and 2 in Schedule if necessary to support title of (ii) Also (ii) grant to (i) - 6 pieces land in Clapham continuing 7p 2r 4p, 2r 29p, 4a 1r 20p, 1p and 4a 33p and denoted by letters a, b, c, d, e and f, as in plan in margin of first skin - land on W side of said fence formed by (ii) and now occupied with Bottom Wood Field as one close - right of way for (i) to pass over piece of land shown in plan on 2nd skin and coloured brown Right of way for others as a footway (ii) covenant with (i) that before 24 June 1865 they will maintain a carriage road of 18ft width over whole of said land coloured brown (ii) covenant to produce deed numbered 3 in Schedule, to (i), if required Is agreed by (i) and (ii) that nothing herein contained shall be an admission that any such footway is a public footway nor shall the permission of (ii) for use of such footway over any period of time be construed to be a dedication to the public of such a footway No widow of (i) or (ii) shall be entitled to dower out of said property Schedule 1 and 2 Lease and release of 1 and 3 May 1813 3 Deed of 26 November 1862 Signatures of all endorsed receipt Witnesses John Hughes, sol, Ventnor James Pearse, sol, Bedford H J Thompson, Clerk to Messrs T W & J Pearse, Bedford
