    Probate of the will of Francis Butterfield (son of /2) of Luton, yeoman. 5 Sep 1848. Gives, devises and bequeaths to Elizabeth Butterfield for life, his wife, all the rents, issues and profits arising out of all his real and personal estate, to support their children; after her death, the real estate to be sold by public auction and converted into money and public stock funds, for Sarah, Francis, Daniel and Albert Butterfield, his children, share and share alike on each attaining the age of twenty-one years. Gives his wife the power to appoint by will a trustee/guardian for his children during their minorities. Appoints his wife as sole executrix. Witnessed by William Hunt, solicitor and Thomas Thomlinson. Probate at the Principal Probate Registry describing the testator as late of George St. and having died on 9 Feb 1864. Estate sworn as being under £3000.
