Scope and Content
An inventory of John & Joseph Morris, brewers of Ampthill, dated 24 June 1827. The brewery was established in Bedford Street, Ampthill in c1820 and operated by John Morris until 1877 after which it was run by Morris & Co. In 1906 the company was registered as a limited liability company in order to acquire business. It was taken over, along with about 70 tied houses, by J.W. Green Ltd., Luton, in 1926 and ceased to brew.
