    Feoffment [water damaged] l. The Rev. Edmond Williamson , Clerk, Rector of Campton-cam-Shefford; Joseph Weston, late of Shefford, draper, now of Little Horwood, Bucks, gent; Charles Seaman Gaye, Shefford, surgeon; William Waller, Shefford, carpenter. William Green, Shefford, liquor merchant, heretofore baker. 2. Edmond Williamson, Charles Seaman Gaye, William Green. 3. Joseph Adams, common brewer; John Brown, tailor and draper; William Eve, commercial clerk; William Freshwater, draper; Thomas Inskip, watchmaker; Robert Johnson, plumber and glazier; Thomas Mossman, cattle salesman, all of Shefford, which seven persons are appointed by the other parties to be Trustees of the sd. hereds. 4. George Austin, attorney at Law. l. as Trustees of sd. hereds do confirm and enfeoff to 3. all hereds in the schedule as cofeoffes in Trust thereof, with all outhouses and apps. and all deeds and writings, except powers and privileges belonging to 2. who continue to act as Trustees, Joseph Weston and William Waller of the lst pt refusing to continue as Trustees. 2. and 3. to hold sd. hereds and apply necessary part of rents and profits to maintain causeways and highways in Shefford in good repair and bestow the overplus on the poor of Shefford to their best discretion. Provided that all the parties and especially the continuing Trustees agree not to devise to their heirs and assigns or cofeoffes without concurrence hereinafter mentioned, or lease the same to anyone for longer than 2l years, or less than the greatest rent they can procure, the rent payable half-yearly. Further that 2. and 3. as Trustees shall deduct out of the rents and profits all money to pay for the lawful execution of the Trust, but shall not bestow any of the profits to other uses than hereinbefore declared. Moreover that procedures of Trust shall be effective on the agreement of the majority of Trustees, not withstanding the want of concurrance of the others. Furthermore if a Trustee becomes insane or otherwise incapable, or gives written resignation he shall be discharged and disqualified from acting under the Trusts thereof, and in the case of the appointment or any new Trustee under the clause hereinafter contained during the temporary disqualification of any Trustee, such disqualification shall be deemed permanent. Lastly when all Trustees except four are dead or permanently or temporarily disqualified, the surviving Trustee orTrustees or heirs and assigns of last surviving Trustee shall appoint ten at least of the substantial freeholders of Shefford as new Trustees. Lastly witnesseth that for better carrying of presents into effect l. appoints 4. attorney to enter them into the sd. hereds in the name of the whole of l. 4. to superintend appointment of 2. and 3. according to provisions hereinbefore mentioned. The Schedule Shefford 7. Cottage or tenement with apps. called the Green Man at Water End als Bedford St. late in tenure of James Ind, now John and Morris Pryor Esqs. 5. Cottage or tenement and garden with apps at Water End, formerly called the White Horse Inn, lately in the tenure of James Layman, now Mrs Mugliston's representatives. 4. Three cottages or tenements under one roof at Water End one heretofore partly used as a workhouse, the other part then occupied by Thomas Sealey, but the whole was lately in tenure of Shefford overseers as a workhouse and is now divided as four tenements and in the tenure of William Carrington, the other two late in the tenure of John Cooper and William Squire and now William Barker and Joseph Kendall 3.Parts of; cottage or tenement and premises nr. the market cross late in the tenure of Ingram Chapman, now James Chapman. Brick-built house adj. last mentioned tenement, late in the tenure of Edward Chew, now Sarah Barber, widow. 2. Cottage or tenement in the High St, now and for many years past in the tenure of Joseph Ibbs. l. Cottage or tenement and apps. in the High St, late in the tenure of Francis Adams, now Thomas Chapman. 3.Residue of; of two cottages, in Duck Lane, late in the tenure of John Bushby and Samuel Ebdon, now George Bushby and widow Bland 6. Cottage or tenement adj. the White Hart Inn on the North part, with yard and apps late in the tenure of Thomas Barber, now William Barker. 8. & 9. (together with those in lieu or substitution whereof certain lands and tenements have been taken in exchange or otherwise acquired as hereinafter mentioned) were vested in l. and late cofeoffees by indenture of feoffment, lst June 1809 Meppershall 10. 10a arable land in Hitchin Highway Field, but by recent admeasurement 11a 2r 19p :E turnpike road from Shefford to Hitchin :N Close heretofore Noddings, Said land inclosed some time ago by sd. Edmond Williamson and co-feoffees in Trust, late in tenure of Samuel Wright, afterwards his widow, now said Henry Stanbridge. Said land was conveyed to sd. Edmond Williamson and cofeoffes by Sir John Osborn, Bt. by indenture, 26th July 1819, in exchange for divers lands at Meppershall belonging to the Trust estates as in the feoffment of 1st June 1809. Arlesey 12. The exchanged hereds being a cottage or tenement with apps in Shefford High St, late occ. John Green then William Green decd. and Warner Green, and a piece of ground at Water End, Shefford, late occ. of Thomas Dunville, then John Impey, and another piece of ground at Water End, Shefford whereon the cage and a blacksmith's shop heretofore stood. Edmond Williamson in his own right and the Trustees of Keelings Charity :W Hitchin Road said land now in the tenure of Emery Smith George Kempson and lately allotted to Edmond Williamson and cofeoffees by virtue of the Clifton Inclosure Act in substitution for 4a Or 34p land in Clifton open fields which were vested in them, by purchase from Edmond Williamson, by lease, appointment and release, 27/8th January 1825, in consid _133 14s 3d being part of the purchase money of _240 agreed to be paid to Edmond Williamson for a cottage or tenement with apps adj. the chapel in Shefford heretofore belonging to part of the said Trust the residue of such purchase money was paid by Edmond Williamson to sd.
