To:Geo Austin. "...Gresham's will. Shefford trust. On the 4th December last I snet you copy of my letter of same date to the Revd. Edmund Ryland Williamson. I have to thank you for your letter of 21st November last and observe what you therein wrote. Mr. Williamson has not had the courtesy to notice my letter in any way and whether he has instructed you as in (the nature?) supposing it was natural to suppose he would have done or anybody else, I know not. By the payment into Bounty the responsibility of the executors [w]as I hope in a great manner ending. However on the 4th inst. I (hole in paper) Mr. Jennings thus: "(hole in paper) would be glad you would look into copy will and draw what you think fair and proper scheme and let me have it, and I will submit it to the parties interested for their approval. It is my desire and that of my children that the obje of the testator's bounty shouls receive what he intended for them with as little delay and with as small a deduction for costs as can well be." I have since received from Mr. Jennings letter of the 7th inst of which on the other side I send you copy and I have also received from him Draft Scheme. I also send you for your consideration and approval. I beg through you to inform the inhabitants of Shefford, that so far from a desire to injure th Trust I am anxious and so are my daughters that it should be carried out as speedily and as frugally as the rules of the Court and the law of the land will permit. And whether I am to consider you as the solicitor of the rector or not, you are at all events an inhabitant of Shefford and one of the principal ones in my esteem and have an interest on your own behalf as well as of some at least of the inhabitants who are your friends and clients. And wishing you and all yours a very happy new year. The draft scheme by tomorrow's post." U.V. 12 Jan 1858 On dorse copy letter from Ed Jennings: "I enclose you draft proposed scheme. I must direct your attention to the marginal observations and all parties should join therein to save expence. I have little doubt but that we shall be called upon to do some other things to satisfy the Commissioners, and I question whether a fresh appointment will not have to be made when the old trustees are refunct, but I would let the proposal go in for the vacancies to be filled up in the manner stated."
