(G.Austin in pencil) Friday 17 Jan 1851. ...let it be referred to the Master of this court in ...to inquire whether the piece of freehold meadow ground described in agreement dated 23 Aug 1850 entered into between Rev. Montague Earl Welby, clerk (I) and the petitioners, Johnson on behalf of himself and the other petitioners (II), and the plot of ground in Shefford described in the agreement of 31 Jan 1851 between John Squire and the petitioners Milner, Layman and Robt Johnson on behalf of themselves and the other petitioners as in the petition mentioned, or either of the said pieces of ground are or is a fit and proper purchase whereon to invest the sum of £180 appearing by the certificate of the Accountant General dated 29 April 1850 to have been paid on the 13 day of the same month into the Bank and there placed to the credit of the matter exparte The Great Northern Railway Act 1846...And in case the said Master shall be of opinion that the said pieces of ground or either of them are or is a fit and proper purchase for the pur aforesaid he is to inquire whether a good title can be made there or to such of them as he shall approve. And the said Master is to state the result of his inquiries with his opinions thereon to the Court whereupon such further order shall be made as shall br just. (This is not a transcript)
