I have always considered it the duty of my profession to suggest no improvement, without some fair reason for adopting it, and every days experience convinces me, that altho' Landscape Gardening is often considered as more subject to fashion or caprice than any other Art, it is not less reducible to rule than Architecture, or Painting: since True Taste in all the Arts must be founded on reason and reflection.
