Register of baptisms performed by the Ministers of the Primitive Episcopal Church or the Reformed Church of England in the Town and County of Bedford. The register gives the name of the child, the dates of the birth and baptism, the names of both parents, their abode and occupation. The entries are signed by the Rev T R Matthews who describes himself, variously, as Bp P.E.C., E.C. Clerk, and Pastor of Christ's Church. Some of the baptisms were by immersion including one in the sea at Brighton At the end of the book: Register of burials (1834-1845)The register gives the date of burial, the name and age of the person concerned and the parish in which the burial took place. The ceremony, in all cases being conducted by the Rev T R Matthews.
