    Some photographs were taken by husbands and some are press photographs otherwise all the making of the scrapbook was by WI members. Several contributed illustrations but most of the writing was done by one member. The scrapbook is in a large portrait format and is illustrated throughout with small colour sketches. - Title page - watercolour by D Hannah of tree planting in the rain with the church in the background'. - Map of the parish of Kempston Rural. - Text re. geology of the parish. - Photograph of the 'oldest inhabitant' Mrs Newbury of Wood End aged 92 at her lace pillow and some examples of her lace. - Photograph of WI member Mrs Joyce Croshaw and her baby, Neil Douglas, the only bably born to a WI member during the year.
