    Statement. 'Mrs Glass has expressed her intention to apply to you for a loan....Colonel Glass .. feels in honour bound to let you know the position of affairs'. Mrs Glass's dividends are not available for security for a loan and Col Glass is unable to do so as he has been dragged into debt. 'He being rendered helpless to keep any check on reckless expediture..' After death of Mrs Glass's mother, Mrs Glass borrowed £100 from Mr Bassett to pay off dressmaker's bill, and 5% interest. Mrs Glass did not pay off any bills. Col Glass was obliged to borrow from Messrs Cox and Co to pay off Mr Bassett. Mrs Glass undertook to pay off amount out of her dividends of January and July 1898. So she has no available security whatever. If Col Glass is declared bankrupt he will be deprived of his pension and lose all means of support.
