    Assignment by way of mortgage i) Samuel Theobalds, Bishopsgate Street, London, draper, and wife Ann (who was one of daughters and legatees of Peter Bassett, late of Leighton Buzzard, banker, deceased) ii) Maria Reynolds, Banbury, Oxford, widow reciting will of Peter Bassett dated 3 July 1816 by which he bequeathed to his wife, Ann Bassett, the interest on £4000 for life. After her death he bequeathed said sum to son, John Dollin Bassett, and to 5 daughters, Mary, said Ann Theobald, Sarah, Elizabeth and Maria, equally. Son John Dollin Bassett, and friends, William Exton and James Reeve, appointed executors and trustees Said Peter Bassett died on 18 September 1821. Will, with codicil, proved in PCC on 6 March 1822 Samuel Theobalds is indebted to ii) in £500 and for securing repayment with interest has on same day as this deed made a promissory note to ii) promising to repay said £500 in 6 months time Now to better secure repayment of said sum i)assigns to ii) - share of said Ann in said legacy of £4000 after decease of her mother - any other share to which said Ann may become entitled Also i) grant full power to ii) to act as attorney of i) to obtain payment of said legacy Interest at 5% p.a until principal repaid copy signatures of i) witness (copy signature) Edward W Ashfield
